German-African Youth Initiative

African Impulse present in lunching of the German-African Youth Initiative

The African Impulse e.V, represented by its president, Clement Nkamanyi, was present in Bonn today June 30, 2016 as the German Economic cooperation and Development Minister, Gerd Müller presented a new exchange program for African and German young people.

This program, the "German-African Youth Initiative" (DAJ) will promote the exchange in both directions. Three pilot countries Benin, South Africa and Tanzania were selected by the African Union in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The start of this initiative was presented by Dr. Martial De-Paul Ikounga of the African Union and Federal Minister Müller in front of over 1,000 African and German guests during the “Zukunfstour” "ONE WORLD - Our Responsibility.

The minister hopes that the initiative shall go a long way in fostering understanding between the youths of both continents and also to concretely build bridges in other to take on the challenges of climate change and fighting hunger together. He reiterated the fact we can only achieve just and fair globalization if we work together.

Dr. Martial Ikounga of the African Union challenged developed countries to the fact that if they think migration weighs much on the economy of the recipient countries, it weighs more the countries from which the migrants leave for they do not only lose their people but they lose the very intellectual. He pointed on the fact that this program could give all the advantage of staying where they are and cooperating constructively.
